We stay at durga residency for 3 days and its was very good rooms also good service and also its not to far from vaisno devi temple and katra railway is also about to walking distance and hotel restaurant food is also ok.

To visit the holy shrine of mata vaishno devi, one has to reach katra; a small town situated around 41 kms. from jammu, katra serves as the base camp for the yatra is well connected to jammu and jammu, inturn, is well connected to the rest of the country by Air, rail and road. The yatra beings at katra and pilgrims have to cover 13 kms. of terrain on foot to reach the holy shrine. One can trek up to shrine if fitness permits, otherwise pony/ palanquins/palki/house/doli/helicopter are also available. Obtain a yatra slip which is absolutely free but is necessary to commence the yatra. Convenience is the word here as the Hotel is located so close to the katra railway station, allowing you to easily access your train travels. Best hotel in this budget .Rooms were clean well furnished with well behaved staff apart from this food quality was excellent. Pick and drop facility was provided by hotel but it's 150 M from railway station.
